UNICEF Report: 40% of Children in High-Risk Pakistani Cities Found with Lead in Blood
Four in ten children aged 12–36 months in high-risk areas across seven cities in Pakistan were found to have lead in their blood, according to a new study by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Islamabad and UNICEF.
Lead exposure can damage a child’s developing brain, raising the risk of learning difficulties and behavioural problems. There is no safe level of exposure.
Protecting children from this toxic threat requires urgent, coordinated action. #LeadFreeFuture
