FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 Begins as Knockout Stage Intensifies
The FIFA World Cup 2026 has entered a decisive phase as the Round of 32 concluded on Friday, with the Round of 16 officially getting underway on July 4. The tournament is now one step closer to the quarter-finals and semi-finals, with the remaining teams battling for a place among the last eight.
Over the next four days, the 16 qualified teams will compete in eight knockout matches, with the losing sides eliminated from the tournament. Following the final two Round of 16 fixtures on July 7, the eight victorious teams will secure their places in the quarter-finals, while only four will eventually progress to the semi-finals.
