Severe Heatwave Expected Across Sindh, Balochistan and KP, Temperature May Reach 50°C

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast an intense heatwave in several parts of the country, particularly in Sindh, eastern and southern Balochistan, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the weather advisory, maximum temperatures in Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Mohenjo-Daro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar, Badin, Sujawal, Thatta, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Umerkot, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Mirpurkhas, Jamshoro, Sanghar, Sibi, Turbat, and Panjgur may rise 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal, reaching between 47°C and 50°C.

On Saturday, hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while Sindh, eastern and southern Balochistan, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to experience extremely hot conditions. However, rain accompanied by strong winds, dust storms, and thunderstorms is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, northeastern and eastern Punjab, and the Potohar region. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms may also occur in some areas.

On Sunday, most regions of the country are expected to remain hot and dry, with severe heat likely to persist in Sindh and southern districts of Balochistan. Meanwhile, partly cloudy weather is expected in Kashmir, the Potohar region, and northeastern Balochistan during the afternoon.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, partly cloudy weather is expected on Saturday with chances of strong winds, dust storms, and thunderstorms accompanied by rain at isolated places. On Sunday, the weather is expected to remain hot with partly cloudy skies.
