8th Pakistan Edible Oil Conference Concludes in Karachi

The 8th Pakistan Edible Oil Conference (PEOC) took place in Karachi on January 9-10, 2026, bringing together international and national speakers to discuss the future of the edible oil sector. The conference served as a platform for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas and address challenges facing the sector. Federal Minister emphasized Pakistan’s reliance on edible oil imports, with around 90% of requirements met through imports, primarily from Malaysia and Indonesia.

The event featured prominent speakers, including the Indonesian Deputy Trade Minister, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, who highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening trade and economic cooperation with Pakistan. The conference also saw participation from various associations, including the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) and the Pakistan Edible Oil Refiners Association (PEORA).

The PEOC aimed to promote dialogue and cooperation in the edible oil industry, with discussions focusing on enhancing trade, investment, and supply chain resilience. The event was seen as a significant opportunity for Pakistan to explore new avenues for economic growth and cooperation with international partners.
