The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread monsoon rainfall across the country from today until July 6, bringing relief to people affected by the summer heat.

According to the weather department, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Sindh are expected to receive rain during the period.

Heavy downpours may trigger urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Peshawar, and Nowshera. Authorities have also warned of landslides in hilly regions and possible flash flooding in streams and seasonal rivers.

Residents have been advised to stay away from weak structures, electricity poles, and billboards during strong winds and rainfall, while travelers are urged to exercise caution.

Meanwhile, Karachi is expected to remain partly cloudy and humid, with chances of light drizzle and gusty winds in different parts of the city. Humidity is forecast to remain at 72 percent, while southwesterly winds are blowing at around 18 km/h. The city’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 34°C and 36°C.
