Young Man Stuns World by Solving Two Puzzle Cubes After Jumping From an Airplane
A Rubik’s Cube enthusiast has set a new Guinness World Record after solving two Rubik’s Cubes in mid-air during his very first skydive.
Twenty-four-year-old Ishan Hudkar, who has been solving puzzle cubes since the age of 10, attempted the challenge while skydiving for the first time above Oceanside, California. However, his first attempt — which also marked the first jump of his life — ended unexpectedly when a piece of one of his cubes broke off mid-air.
Hudkar was aiming to break the Guinness World Record for solving the most rotating puzzle cubes during a single skydive. Speaking to Guinness World Records, he said he had no idea what to expect from the experience and described the challenge as completely new to him.
Determined not to give up, Hudkar immediately boarded another plane and attempted the record again just minutes later. During his second jump from an altitude of 13,000 feet, he successfully solved two cubes before landing, securing the world record.
He admitted the challenge was especially difficult due to his lack of skydiving experience, windy and cloudy weather conditions, and free-fall speeds of nearly 120 miles per hour. Hudkar explained that he used the same solving techniques as on the ground but had to grip the cubes much more firmly because of the intense air pressure.
According to Hudkar, he solved the first cube during free fall and completed the second one after deploying his parachute.
