Severe Heatwave Expected Across Pakistan from May 27–28, Temperatures May Reach Up to 50°C
A severe heatwave is expected to affect multiple cities across Pakistan from May 27 to 28, with temperatures likely rising significantly above normal levels.
According to forecasts, several areas including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Mohenjo Daro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar, Badin, Sajawal, Thatta, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Jhang, and Sahiwal may experience maximum temperatures between 47°C and 50°C, which is 4–6°C above normal.
On Wednesday, most parts of the country are expected to remain hot and dry, while plain areas will experience intense heat. On Thursday, similar hot and dry conditions are expected in most regions. However, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, and Potohar region may receive isolated rain showers accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, weather will remain hot and dry on Wednesday, with strong winds expected during the day. On Thursday, extreme heat conditions are likely to persist, though strong winds or dust storms may occur at night.
