Former Cricketer Sana Mir Honoured with Sitara-e-Imtiaz

Islamabad – Former Pakistan women’s cricket captain Sana Mir has been conferred the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of her contributions to sports.Announcing the honour, Mir expressed gratitude and said she was “humbled and extremely grateful” for the recognition. She added that she was delighted to have her family with her at the occasion, describing them as the people who “love, show up and support through the hardest times.”Mir is among Pakistan’s most celebrated women cricketers, having led the national side and played a key role in raising the profile of women’s cricket in the country.The Sitara-e-Imtiaz is one of Pakistan’s highest civilian awards, given for outstanding service in various fields including sports, education, and public service.
