“Echoes of a Bygone Era: Matli Railway Station Abandoned, Dreams of Revival Fade”

The once-thrusting Matli railway station, a vital link between Hyderabad and Badin, now stands as a haunting reminder of a bygone era. In the past, the train from Hyderabad to Badin was a lifeline for locals, ferrying people and goods across the region. However, with Pakistan Railways deeming the route unprofitable, the trains fell silent, leaving Matli station abandoned and forsaken. The tracks, once pulsating with activity, now lie still, a testament to neglect and decay.

The station’s fate took a brief turn for the better when Dr. Fahmida Mirza, during her tenure as Speaker of the National Assembly, championed the revival of trains on this route. Alas, her departure marked the end of this reprieve, and the authorities once again pulled the plug on the service. Today, the Matli station resembles a ghost town, its infrastructure crumbling, and its future uncertain. Locals yearn for the return of the trains, pleading for the revival of this historic route, once prized by the British Indian authorities. Can Pakistan Railways answer their call and breathe life back into this neglected artery?
