Blood Donation Can Save Lives in Emergencies and Natural Disasters: Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal.

Principal PGMI, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, has urged the public to donate blood regularly, saying that timely blood donation can save the lives of patients injured in accidents, natural disasters, and medical emergencies.

Addressing an awareness walk organized by the Blood Donation Society AMC at Lahore General Hospital, he said blood donation is a noble humanitarian act and a moral as well as religious responsibility. He stressed that a healthy person can safely donate one unit of blood every six months.

Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal also called upon the media and welfare organizations to play an active role in promoting awareness about blood donation to help ensure an adequate supply of blood for patients in need.
