PMA Urges Punjab Government to Resolve Pending Transfer Cases of 850 Doctors.

The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has expressed concern over the prolonged delay in deciding more than 850 transfer applications of doctors from the Health and Population Department to the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
PMA President Prof. Shahid Malik said the doctors have completed the required three-year service period and are eligible for transfer under the policy, but their cases remain pending. He criticized the delay, stating it has caused professional uncertainty and mental stress among the affected doctors.
He urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to direct the Health and Population Department to decide all pending applications promptly, transparently, and on merit, warning that continued delays could lead to legal proceedings and unnecessary expenditure of public resources.
