Good News for Pakistan Cricket: ICC Awards Another Mega Event Hosting Rights to Pakistan

Good news for Pakistan cricket as the country has been awarded hosting rights for another major ICC event following the Champions Trophy.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially granted Pakistan the hosting rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028. This decision was approved during a formal ICC meeting regarding host allocations.

According to details, India’s matches in the tournament will be played at neutral venues.

The tournament will feature 12 teams in total. Out of these, 10 teams will qualify automatically, including the top eight teams from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, the host nation if not already qualified, and the next highest-ranked teams in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings as of July 6, 2026.

The remaining two spots will be decided through a 10-team global qualifier tournament, supported by regional qualification events. The regional allocation will be finalized during ICC meetings scheduled for July.
