Bollywood is full of franchises that fans either eagerly wait for or hope will continue for a long time. However, there are also several film series that seem to be running without a clear purpose. These franchises neither feel consistently entertaining nor leave a lasting impact anymore. In many cases, they are only surviving on brand name recognition rather than strong storytelling. Here are some franchises that, according to audience opinion, may have already reached their end.

DHAMAAL

The first Dhamaal film was a huge success and was appreciated for its simple comedy and unique charm. At that time, a hit comedy film without a female lead was also considered unusual. However, the later installments failed to recreate the same magic. Even though multiple sequels have been released and a fourth part is reportedly in development, none of them matched the impact of the original. Today, many viewers feel the franchise should have ended after the first film, especially since other comedy franchises like Golmaal are already doing better in the same space.

SINGHAM

The Singham franchise started strong with its first two installments, but the recent expansion into a larger cop universe has made the storyline feel overcrowded. With too many characters and crossovers, the original simplicity and intensity have been lost. Ajay Devgn’s Singham no longer feels as impactful as it once did. After the latest installment, many fans believe the franchise has run its course and should now come to an end.

BHOOL BHULAIYAA

While the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar remains a cult favorite, later parts struggled to match its level of horror-comedy balance. The second and third installments failed to recreate the same magic, and the change in lead actor also divided audiences. Although Kartik Aaryan has a strong fanbase, many viewers feel the franchise now survives more on its name than its content, and it may be time to conclude it on a high note.

DABANGG & HOUSEFULL

The Dabangg series started with a strong and iconic character in Chulbul Pandey, and the first two films were widely enjoyed. However, Dabangg 3 received mixed to negative reactions and was seen as a major disappointment, weakening the legacy of the franchise.

Similarly, the Housefull franchise, once known for light family comedy, has gradually shifted toward forced and often over-the-top humor. With multiple sequels already released, many viewers feel the charm has faded, and the series now relies more on repetition than creativity.
