Dr. Maryam Mustafa, Associate Professor at LUMS, introduces Pakistan’s first National AI Hub for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health. This landmark initiative is supported by the Gates Foundation, with additional support from Mubarik Imam, member of the Advisory Board at the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, LUMS.
The Hub will deploy ethical, evidence-based AI tools within existing health systems to support frontline health workers, bridge language and literacy barriers, and strengthen maternal care across Pakistan. The initiative brings together government partners, clinicians, AI researchers, and policymakers to improve health outcomes for mothers and newborns nationwide, in close partnership with Aga Khan University, where Professor Fyezah Jehan, Chair of Paediatrics and Child Health, collaborates on clinical design and implementation.
Led by LUMS. Built for Pakistan.
