Severe Weather Alert: Heavy Rains, Storms, and Flash Flood Risk Across Pakistan

Heavy rains are expected during the evening and night of March 29, raising the risk of flash flooding in Northern Balochistan, including Zhob, Musa Khel, Sibi, Kohlu, Barkhan, Naseerabad, and Loralai. There is also a risk of flash floods in local streams and nullahs of upper and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir from tonight through March 30.

Strong winds, thunderstorms, hailstorms, and lightning may damage vulnerable infrastructure such as electric poles, billboards, and solar panels.

On Sunday, most parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather. However, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper/central Punjab, Islamabad, northeastern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, while a few areas of southern Punjab and Sindh may also receive rainfall. Heavy rain and hailstorms are possible at some locations during evening and night.

On Monday, rain with thunderstorms is expected at most places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper/central Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, and at a few places in northeastern Balochistan and southern Punjab. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms may occur at isolated locations.

In Islamabad, partly cloudy weather is expected on Sunday with rain, strong winds, and possible hailstorms during evening/night. On Monday, cloudy conditions with intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected.
