Hope and Greaves Steady West Indies After Sri Lanka Posts 549 in Second Test

West Indies fought back with a resilient batting display after Sri Lanka piled up a massive 549/9 declared in the second Test at North Sound.

At the close of Day 3, the hosts were 318/4 in 111 overs, still trailing by 231 runs. Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 86 off 173 balls, while Justin Greaves was also not out on 85 from 162 deliveries, with the pair sharing an important partnership to keep the innings alive.

Sri Lanka spinner Prabath Jayasuriya claimed 2 wickets and continued to trouble the West Indies batters, but Hope and Greaves ensured the home side stayed in contention heading into Day 4.

With two days remaining, West Indies will look to reduce the deficit and avoid conceding a first-innings advantage to Sri Lanka.
