UK: Call to Prayer Heard for the First Time at Famous Old Trafford Stadium
For the first time in the iconic Old Trafford Stadium, the call to prayer (Azaan) echoed across the venue, marking a historic moment. Alongside this, Manchester United organized a special iftar, emphasizing unity and inclusion.
The event, coordinated by the Manchester United Muslim Supporters Club (MUMSC) in collaboration with the club, welcomed approximately 80 fans and special guests selected through a lucky draw. Footage of the event quickly went viral across social media, sending a strong message of solidarity.
Notable attendees included Moroccan international defender Noussair Mazraoui, who joined Manchester United from Bayern Munich in 2024. Mazraoui has openly expressed his commitment to observing Ramadan while fulfilling professional responsibilities. His presence highlighted the club’s support for players and fans from diverse religious backgrounds.
This initiative is being recognized as a significant step forward in Manchester United’s inclusivity policy, promoting respect, diversity, and cultural understanding within the club and its fan community.
