Mayor introduces SAP system to streamline transparency, and accountability

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated a state-of-the-art SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) system at the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), marking a historic step toward digital reforms.

Speaking at the inauguration held at the Water Corporation’s main office, the Mayor Karachi emphasized that modern technology is critical for improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability within public institutions.

The ceremony was attended by KW&SC CEO Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, COO Engineer Asadullah Khan, CFO Ammar Ali Khan, DMD HR Sikandar Ali, and other senior officials including Sadat Anwar, Abdul Ghani Shaikh, Ameen Tughluq, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Faisal Qureshi, Aamir Rasheed, (R) Colonel Anjum Tauqeer, and Sajid Nizam.

Mayor Wahab highlighted that the SAP system will digitize records, streamline billing, recovery, and expense monitoring, and improve overall financial and operational management. “With this system, decision-making will be faster and more accurate, and citizens will receive better, high-quality services,” he said.

Mayor further stressed that no institutional improvement is possible without modern technology, and the KW&SC is now being aligned with advanced IT infrastructure. The Mayor reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing transparency, performance, and accountability, assuring that the reform process will continue to ensure clean water and improved public services.
