Gorakh Hill: Sindh’s Only Hill Station with Untapped Potential
Gorakh Hill is the only hill station of Sindh, located in Dadu district at an elevation of approximately 5,688 feet above sea level. Situated nearly 450 kilometers from Karachi, it is often referred to as the “Murree of Sindh” due to its cool climate and scenic beauty.

Unlike the scorching plains of Sindh, Gorakh Hill enjoys pleasant weather during summers, while winters can be extremely cold, with temperatures occasionally dropping to freezing levels. In rare cases, snowfall has also been reported, making it a unique destination within the province.
The area is known for its breathtaking natural landscapes, including rolling hills, lush greenery, mist-covered valleys, and stunning sunset views. The calm and pollution-free environment also makes Gorakh Hill an ideal spot for stargazing and astronomical observations.
Despite its natural charm, Gorakh Hill remains underdeveloped. Limited road access, lack of proper accommodation, healthcare facilities, and communication services continue to discourage large-scale tourism. Although the Sindh government has announced several development plans over the years, progress on infrastructure and facilities has been slow.
Tourism experts believe that with proper investment in roads, hotels, security, and basic amenities, Gorakh Hill has the potential to become a major tourist attraction not only for domestic travelers but also for international visitors.
Gorakh Hill stands as a hidden gem on Sindh’s tourism map. With effective planning and sustainable development, it could play a significant role in boosting tourism and economic activity in the region.
