UNICEF, together with the Ministry of Human Rights, United Nations – Pakistan, UN Women Pakistan and partners, marked the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (25 Nov–10 Dec).
The event brought together 260 girls from 38 districts across Pakistan, alongside UNICEF Representative, Pernille Ironside, Head of UN Resident Coordinator’s Office, Afke Bootsman, UN Women Deputy Country Representative, Jacqui Ketunuti, UNFPA Pakistan Representative, Luay Shabaneh, Minister of State for Interior, Tallal Chaudhry , Chairperson of Special Committee of Gender Mainstreaming of National Assembly, Dr.Nafisa Shah, and Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad, Umme Laila.
The gathering also marked the launch of the Women’s Hockey Star Super League 2025, with girls sharing powerful stories reflecting their leadership and contributions to climate action, health and nutrition, and their advocacy for mental and emotional well-being within their communities.
