Sindh Commission on the Status of Women
Treaty Implementation Cell, Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, organized a consultative meeting in collaboration with UNDP on the preparations for the implementation plan of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
The meeting focused on strengthening provincial mechanisms, ensuring gender-responsive implementation, and reinforcing Sindhโ€™s commitment to international human rights obligations.
Adv. Rubina Brohi, Chairperson, Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, Government of Sindh, said:
โ€œEffective implementation of UPR and ICCPR recommendations is essential to safeguarding civil and political rights, particularly for women and marginalized communities. Collaborative efforts and accountability mechanisms are key to translating commitments into meaningful change.โ€
