*KARACHI (PR 04 APRIL 2026)* The ‘Mawashi Dost Mandi,’ located at Karachi’s Northern Bypass, successfully completed its first month of operations today. Spanning an expansive 1,100 acres, the market has already witnessed the arrival of over 100,000 sacrificial animals from various parts of the country.

These details were shared during a press conference addressed by Mawashi Dost Mandi Administrator Furqan Chhipa, Food Street Incharge Rao Ubaid, and Media Cell Incharge Zaki Abro.

Addressing the media, Furqan Chhipa stated that the influx of traders from across Pakistan remains steady. He emphasized that the administration has maintained a zero-tolerance policy regarding animal health. “Specialized teams of veterinary doctors are stationed at the marshalling areas to conduct thorough medical examinations. Only certified healthy animals are granted entry into the main market,” Chhipa noted.

He further highlighted that, this year, traders are permitted to bring ample fodder, while the provision of plots and water remains entirely free of charge in the General Blocks. To streamline the experience for buyers and traders, dedicated blocks have been established for Karachi, Sindh, KPK, and Balochistan, alongside premium categories such as Diamond, Golden, and Sapphire.

Speaking on the occasion, Food Street Incharge Rao Ubaid informed the press that a high-standard food street has been established to provide quality dining and recreation for citizens. Prominent culinary brands, including Bilal Broast, Javed Nihari, Butt Karahi, Platter House, Mateen Food, and Chaudhary Mohsin Foods, are offering services at their standard outlet rates. The famous “Water Pump Watermelon Juice” has also been introduced as a seasonal attraction.

Rao Ubaid added that the facility houses over 70 hotels, 100 retail shops, and 200 cabin stalls, ensuring all essential commodities are available under one roof. Rents for these stalls vary across categories, ranging from PKR 8,000 to PKR 80,000.

In his concluding remarks, Media Cell Incharge Zaki Abro expressed his gratitude to the journalistic community for their continued support. The press briefing was also attended by the Media Cell Spokesperson, Umm-e-Aiman.
