Hamdard University Launches Sports Week 2026
Hamdard University has commenced its Sports Week 2026 from Monday, April 27 to Thursday, April 30, 2026. This four-day event will feature competitions in a total of 13 indoor and outdoor sports, along with additional activities including wrestling, an auto show, and food stalls. The purpose of this event is to promote healthy activities among students, enhance their physical and mental development, and strengthen team spirit within the institution.
The sports competitions scheduled during Sports Week include tape ball cricket, football, futsal (girls), basketball, badminton, table tennis, throwball, volleyball, Ludo, chess, tug of war, 100-meter race, and 400-meter relay race.
At the opening ceremony of Sports Week 2026 at Hamdard University, the university’s Vice Professor Dr. Imran Amin is starting the Sports Week by playing badminton along with the Registrar, Syed Faizullah Jawad.

According to the schedule, the competitions began on Monday with events such as tape ball cricket and football. On Tuesday and Wednesday, matches will start at 9:00 AM and continue throughout the day. Additionally, special competitions including Ludo, chess, tug of war, and races will also be held on Wednesday. The final matches and key events will take place onThursday, April 30, 2026. The Chancellor of the University, Ms. Sadia Rashid, will attend as the Chief Guest.
While addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University, Prof. Dr. Imran Amin, said Sports Week is an excellent co-curricular activity that plays a vital role in improving students’ physical and mental health. It generates enthusiasm among students and encourages them to engage in positive activities. Hamdard University has always promoted co-curricular activities alongside academics. Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said himself was a great sportsman and a skilled badminton player. The active participation of students in Sports Week reflects their understanding of its importance and their desire to enhance their abilities.”
He expressed hope that Sports Week 2026 would prove to be a memorable and healthy event for students.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor also unveiled the Sports Week trophy and formally inaugurated the event by playing badminton along with Registrar Syed Faizullah Jawad. The ceremony was attended by deans, faculty members, directors, and other distinguished guests, including Director MCEL, Admission & Sports Mr. Shahryar Pasha.
