PASTIC Karachi Holds Webinar on “Research Supported AI Tools”

Karachi, April 23, 2026:
The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) Sub-Centre Karachi, working under the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Ministry of Science and Technology, successfully organized a webinar on the topic “Research Supported AI Tools” on Wednesday.

The webinar was attended by around 100 students, researchers, academicians, and professionals from various institutions across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Afsheen Tariq, Assistant Director, PASTIC Sub-Centre Karachi, highlighted the pivotal role of PASTIC in promoting scientific research and dissemination of technological information. She emphasized that PASTIC provides access to national and international scientific databases, organizes capacity-building programs, and facilitates researchers in strengthening their academic and research work.

The session was conducted by Dr. Maryam Ibrar, Additional Director, PASTIC National Centre Islamabad, who served as the resource person. She delivered a comprehensive and insightful presentation on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in research. She explained how AI is transforming modern research practices by enhancing data analysis, improving academic writing, and increasing overall research efficiency and productivity.

Participants showed keen interest throughout the session and actively engaged through interactive discussions and queries. The webinar was widely appreciated for its practical approach and relevance to contemporary research needs.

In her concluding remarks, Ms. Afsheen Tariq expressed sincere gratitude to the resource person for her valuable contribution and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of attendees.
