Bahria University Psychology Students Visit MATRC for Practical Exposure to Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation
A field visit to the Model Addicts Treatment & Rehabilitation Centre (MATRC) provided BS Psychology students with valuable practical exposure to addiction treatment and recovery processes.
The experience significantly deepened students’ understanding of rehabilitation as a structured and multi-dimensional process that extends beyond medical treatment. They gained insight into how counselling practices – such as individual therapy, group sessions, and behavioral interventions – are applied to address the psychological aspects of addiction.
Moreover, the visit highlighted the critical role of a supportive and structured environment in recovery, where continuous monitoring, empathy, and community support contribute to long-term behavioral change.
