However, South Africa staged a strong comeback, claiming four quick wickets to halt the scoring flow. At one stage, West Indies were struggling at 83 for 7.

From there, Jason Holder scored 49 while Romario Shepherd played a crucial knock of 52, helping their side recover and post 176 for 8.

For South Africa, Lungi Ngidi took three wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Corbin Bosch claimed two wickets each.
