“Ramadan Mubarak! Moon Sighting Confirmed, First Fast Begins Tomorrow”
The crescent moon for Ramadan 1447 AH has been sighted in Pakistan, and the first fast will be observed tomorrow (Thursday).
The central Ru’yat-e-Hilal Committee held a meeting in Peshawar to sight the moon, while zonal committees held their meetings at their respective headquarters.
The announcement of the Ramadan moon sighting was made by the Chairman of the Central Ru’yat-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
The meeting was attended by members of the central and zonal Ru’yat-e-Hilal Committee Peshawar, DG of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Hafiz Abdul Qudus, SUPARCO representative Shaukatullah, meteorology department representative Dr. Hasan Ali Baig, and Zain-ul-Abidin from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Meanwhile, the Ramadan crescent has also been sighted in Bangladesh and India, and in Saudi Arabia and other Arab and Gulf countries, today marks the first fast of Ramadan.
Following the announcement of the Ramadan crescent in Saudi Arabia, the first Taraweeh prayers were offered in Makkah, where millions of pilgrims and worshippers gathered in a spiritually uplifting congregation.
