Weather Alert: Snowfall, Rain and Landslide Risk in Northern Areas

Due to snowfall expected between the night of 9th and 10th February, traffic flow may be disrupted in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Murree, Galiyat, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Haveli.
During this period, landslides may occur at a few locations in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

On Sunday, cold and dry weather is expected to prevail over most parts of the country. However, partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with light rain and light snowfall at a few places are expected in northern and western Balochistan.

On Monday, cloudy weather with rain is expected in Balochistan and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After noon, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan may experience rain with strong winds and thunderstorms, while heavy rain and snowfall over mountains is expected at night.
In the Potohar region and central Punjab, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is likely during evening/night, with possible heavy rain and hailstorm at isolated places.

Sunday: Cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad and surrounding areas, with chances of cold winds during the day.
Monday: Cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in Islamabad and surrounding areas, with rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms after noon. Hailstorm may occur at isolated places.
