University of Karachi Holds “Voice of Kashmir” Seminar on Kashmir Day
The Department of Political Science, University of Karachi, in collaboration with the Muslim Students League, organized a seminar titled “Voice of Kashmir” to commemorate Kashmir Day on February 3, 2026. The event aimed to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue and its historical and political dimensions.
The seminar began with a one-minute silence to pay tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Chairman of the Department of Political Science, welcomed the audience and highlighted the significance of observing Kashmir Day.
The Guest speaker, M. Nadeem Awan, Chairman of Hurriyat Youth Alliance, delivered a thought-provoking address, elaborating on the historical and political dimensions of the Kashmir dispute. Keynote speaker Mujahid Galini Jamaat also delivered a telephonic address, shedding light on the importance, challenges, and ongoing issues of Kashmir.
The seminar concluded with a shield distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks by Dr. Muhammad Kamran Khan. Mr. Mehboob Hasan offered a heartfelt dua for the Kashmiri people.
A rally was organized afterward, where participants marched from the Department of Political Science to the Admin Block, expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir. The rally was attended by faculty members, including Mr. Mahboob Hassan Muqaddam and Dr. Suwaibah Qadri.
The event provided a platform for discussion, awareness, and solidarity with the people of Kashmir, highlighting the importance of continued efforts to promote understanding and resolution of the Kashmir issue.
