OICD Conducts Hands-On Workshop on Medical Pleuroscopy

A hands-on, simulation-based Workshop on Medical Pleuroscopy was carried out on 31st January 2026 by the Department of Pulmonology, Ojha Institute of Chest Diseases (OICD), Dow University of Health Sciences as a highly successful academic event to enhance procedural skills and clinical competence in Interventional Pulmonology.
This academic and skill-based workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Faisal Faiyaz Zuberi (Program Director, HOD Pulmonology OICD, and Director MD Pulmonology Program, DUHS), along with Senior Registrars of the Department as facilitators.
We are especially grateful for the guidance, supervision, and academic support of our respected leaders Prof. Dr. Nazli Hossain, Vice Chancellor, DUHS, and Prof. Dr. Jahan Ara Hasan, Pro Vice Chancellor, DUHS. The workshop was honored by the gracious presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Uzma Bukhari (Principal, DIMC) kind cooperation and presence of Prof. Dr. Niaz Hussain, Director, OICD.
The workshop provided a comprehensive platform completely free of charge, for stepwise learning, incorporating real-life case reviews, video demonstrations, and practical hands-on session using Rigid and Semi-Rigid pleuroscopes on simulation manikin models. It reflected the department’s strong commitment to advancing clinical approaches among postgraduate trainees and consultant pulmonologists throughout the province, in line with evolving clinical standards and improved patient care.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all participants for their overwhelming response and active engagement, which greatly contributed to the success of this academic event.
