Australia Squad Update Ahead of T20 World Cup

Australia have confirmed changes to their squad plans ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, with Sean Abbott set to remain with the team following the Pakistan tour as fast-bowling cover for the tournament.

Abbott’s inclusion provides Australia with additional pace options as the team prepares for a demanding schedule during the World Cup.

Meanwhile, senior fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will continue his rehabilitation in Sydney during the early stages of the tournament. Cricket Australia has confirmed that Hazlewood will travel to Sri Lanka later, once his recovery progresses and he is cleared to rejoin the squad.

The team management said the decisions were taken to manage player workloads and ensure fitness ahead of the crucial stages of the competition.
