Commendable Honesty and Professional Conduct by Islamabad International Airport Staff
Islamabad – Demonstrating a high standard of honesty and professional responsibility, staff at Islamabad International Airport successfully recovered and returned valuable belongings to passengers in two separate incidents.
In the first incident, Ms. Bibi, who arrived from Madinah on a PIA flight on 18 January 2026, reported the loss of her gold necklace in the Arrival Hall. The DFO Arrivals team responded promptly, recovered the necklace weighing approximately two tola and valued at around PKR 1 million, and deposited it with the Lost & Found section. Later, through coordinated efforts, the passenger was contacted, and the necklace was safely handed over to her.


In the second incident, on 21 January 2026 at International Arrivals, Belt No. 5, an NKC cleaning staff member, Mr. Abdul Shafeeq found a passenger’s pouch belonging to a traveler who had arrived on an Etihad Airways flight. The pouch contained a wallet, identification card, AirPods, USD 10,000 in cash, and SAR 5,000. The recovered items were immediately deposited at the DFO counter, and with the assistance of Airport Services (APS), the passenger was traced, and all belongings were duly returned.
Airport management highly appreciated the honesty and integrity displayed by the staff. The Chief Operating Officer / Airport Manager commended Mr. Abdul Shafeeq for his exemplary conduct and awarded him a cash prize in recognition of his ethical behavior.
The strong values, sense of responsibility, and commitment to safeguarding passenger trust demonstrated by the staff of Islamabad International Airport are a source of pride for the Pakistan Airports Authority.
