Five-Day Faculty and ALI Staff Training on Innovative Teaching Practices Concludes Successfully at LUMS, Lahore
A comprehensive five-day training program for faculty members and ALI staff was successfully conducted at the LLI from January 5 to January 9, 2026, aimed at enhancing teaching effectiveness, learner engagement, and the integration of modern educational practices.
The training commenced on January 5 with a focus on Instructional Design and Constructive Alignment. Participants strengthened their understanding of aligning course learning outcomes with teaching strategies and assessment methods to improve student learning. Interactive microteaching sessions enabled participants to apply these principles in practice and receive constructive feedback from peers and experts.
On January 6, the sessions emphasized Active Learning and Classroom Assessment Techniques. Faculty were introduced to learner-centered teaching approaches that encourage participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Practical classroom assessment techniques were also discussed to help instructors continuously evaluate student understanding and move beyond traditional teaching methods.
The third day, January 7, centered on Receiving Feedback and Reflective Teaching Practice. Participants explored effective feedback frameworks that support reflection, self-awareness, and continuous professional growth. Microteaching sessions followed, where structured feedback helped participants refine their active learning and assessment strategies in a supportive, feedback-rich environment.
On January 8, the training shifted to Understanding Artificial Intelligence in Education. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the evolution of AI, including AI models, robotics, and emerging educational tools. The sessions highlighted both opportunities and challenges, fostering ethical and informed use of AI in academic settings and laying a strong conceptual foundation for innovation in teaching and learning.
The program concluded on January 9 with a highly practical focus on Applying AI Tools in Teaching and Learning. Faculty and ALI staff actively practiced using AI tools to design assignments, assessments, classroom activities, and presentations. Emphasis was placed on responsible integration of AI to enhance instructional effectiveness while maintaining academic integrity.
Overall, the five-day training empowered participants with contemporary pedagogical skills, reflective teaching practices, and practical AI applications, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to quality education, continuous professional development, and innovation in teaching and learning.
