119th Syndicate Meeting Held at Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam; Key Administrative and Academic Decisions Approved

Tandojam (Press Release) The 119th meeting of the Syndicate of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam was held on Saturday in the University Committee Room under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal. The meeting deliberated on a wide range of academic, administrative, financial, and legal matters and approved several important decisions.
The Syndicate approved the recommendations adopted by the Academic Council in its 83rd meeting, including the upgradation of the Information Technology Centre to the status of a Faculty. The minutes of the 118th meeting of the Syndicate were confirmed, along with the approval of the Action Taken Report on the resolutions passed therein. Similarly, the minutes and Action Taken Report of the 32nd Special Meeting of the Syndicate were also approved.

The meeting approved the recommendations of the Syndicate Committee regarding the payment of salaries to employees of the SAU Campus Umerkot. The case of Dr. Gordan Das, Professor, Department of Statistics, concerning his unauthorized absence from duty was also discussed, and the Syndicate approved his removal from service.
The Syndicate reviewed matters relating to the payment of pension, gratuity, and Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR) benefits to retired employees and considered the future course of action in this regard. The draft Annual Report of the year 2024 was also approved.
In addition, the Syndicate discussed the review report and recommendations submitted by Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Rajput, Member Syndicate, regarding the restructuring of the Computerization and Networking Section of the University.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal emphasized that the Syndicate plays a pivotal role in ensuring good governance, transparency, improvement in academic standards, and the resolution of employees’ issues, adding that all decisions were taken in the best interest of the institution.
In the last Annual Report of the University was presented by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Aijaz Ali Khooharo. The meeting was attended by Dr. A.Q. Mughal, Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Rajput, Dr. Arbela Bhutto Vice Chancellor SABS University of Art Design and Heritage Jamshoro, Ms. Sadiqa Salahuddin, Ahsan Leghari, Dr. Jan Muhammad Marri, Dr. Inayatullah Rajper PVC SAU Umerkot Campus, Dr. Pir Ahmed Naqi Shah, Dr. Imtiaz Ali Nizamani, Dr. Agha Mushtaq, and Mukhtiar Mirjat. Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi performed the duties of Secretary to the Syndicate.
