A One-Day Orientation on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Helplines and Service Providers, organized by Pathfinder International, was held in Karachi with participation from key provincial stakeholders.
In her welcome address, Advocate Rubina Brohi, Chairperson, Sindh Commission on the Status of Women (SCSW), commended Pathfinder International for developing the SOPs through a consultative and inclusive process. She expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved and emphasized that the orientation would play a crucial role in finalizing the SOPs. She further stated that once finalized, the SOPs would be formally submitted to the Women Development Department, Government of Sindh, for necessary action and implementation.
The session was chaired by Ms.Shaheena Sher Ali, Minister for Women Development Department, who underscored the importance of timely finalization and effective implementation of the SOPs to strengthen GBV response mechanisms across Sindh.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated, survivor-centered, and rights-based approaches to addressing Gender-Based Violence in the province.
