Under the visionary leadership of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, and her steadfast commitment to transforming Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), Sukkur, into a hub of science, technology, and research-driven education, the University successfully convened the 5th Meeting of the Board of Studies (BOS) of the Department of Human & Rehabilitation Sciences on 28 November 2025 in the University Conference Room.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Saifullah Bullo, Chairperson, Department of Human & Rehabilitation Sciences, and commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The house unanimously approved the minutes of the previous BOS meeting held on 4 March 2025, reflecting continuity in academic planning and governance.
The Board was attended by eminent internal and external members, including Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Mastoi (Allama Iqbal Kazi Institute of Chemistry, University of Sindh), Dr. Geeta Kumari (Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sindh, Jamshoro), Dr. Bahadur Ali Mangi (People’s University of Medical & Health Sciences for Women), Dr. Sham Lal (Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur), along with Dr. Ayesha Munawar, Dr. Nabiha Arain, Ms. Rida Siddique, Dr. Shahzeb Muneer, and Dr. Mir Air Hussain Talpur as Special Invitee, ensuring robust academic deliberations through inter-institutional representation.
In line with the Vice Chancellorโs strategic vision, the Board approved the launch of the following postgraduate programs to strengthen advanced education and research capacity at BNBWU:
โข MS Physical Therapy
โข MS Chemistry
โข MS Biotechnology
Additionally, the HEC-recommended revised Schemes of Studies for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), BS Chemistry, and BS Biotechnology were reviewed and approved for adoption, ensuring alignment with national standards, emerging scientific trends, and market-oriented competencies.
The meeting concluded with a renewed collective commitment to academic excellence, curriculum modernization, and research-led learning, reaffirming BNBWUโs mission to empower women through quality higher education and innovation
