The FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Women Education and Training, in collaboration with Launchpad Pakistan, a flagship project of FPCCI, organized a vibrant celebration of International Entrepreneurship Day on 4th December 2025 at Tariq Saeed Auditorium, FPCCI Head Office, Karachi. Supported by Dawood University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), the event focused on the overarching theme of bridging the gap between industry and academia, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, academicians, entrepreneurs, and youth innovators.
The event was organized under the supervision of Ms. Shamsa Jabeen Jawed Ahmed (Convener FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Women Education and Training) and was graced by Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon (Senior Vice President FPCCI),
Mr. Rajvir Singh Sodha (Special Assistant to the CM, Government of Sindh) and other dignitaries.
A key highlight was the participation of Dawood University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) through its Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC). Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khan (Director ORIC, DUET), delivered a talk on the universityโs role as a research hub for industry. Five startups of DUET, (including HOAE, CyberGuard, Dastkaar, Epsilon Smart Solutions and Tri Spark), working at Research Products Development Unit (RPDU), pitched their products to the investors and business community, attending the event. These sessions demonstrated DUETโs growing capacity for research commercialization and industry-focused innovation. On behalf of ORIC DUET, Engr. Mohib Zafar (Deputy Director, ORIC) played a key role in the arrangements.
The Chief Guest Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon (Senior Vice President FPCCI) highly appreciated the efforts of the startups and DUET authorities. He extended the full support of FPCCI in bringing these products to market.
Overall, the event successfully highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among industry, academia, and government in strengthening Pakistanโs entrepreneurial ecosystem. It created a valuable platform for innovators to connect with industry leaders and reaffirmed the need for sustained partnerships to nurture youth talent, support women entrepreneurs, and drive national socio-economic progress.
