A village making headlines.
This is the story of a village whose residents, through sheer hard work and skill, are steadily transforming it into a model village. Under the Sindh Government’s Poverty Reduction Program, the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) has provided interest-free loans to local families. Men and women have been trained in a range of livelihoods — from fish farming and handicrafts to mobile repair and driving.

The villagers, especially the women, are making remarkable use of these loans and moving toward financial independence. A group of journalists visited the village under the Green Media Initiative (GMI) and were deeply impressed by the rising awareness and empowerment they witnessed there.
