K-Electric has formally sent a request to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) for a scheduled shutdown to carry out annual maintenance work at the Dhabeji substation and grid station.
According to the KWSC Spokesperson, K-Electric will conduct this annual maintenance on Tuesday, December 09, from 8am to 8pm. During this period, power supply to various feeders of the Dhabeji pumping station will remain partially suspended.
The Spokesperson KW&SC said that due to the shutdown, the city’s water supply is expected to decrease by approximately 200 million gallons. As a result, water supply to Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, DHA, Chanesar Town, Jinnah Town, North Nazimabad, and Gulberg Town will be partially affected.
He added that the city is normally supplied with 650 million gallons of water per day; however, despite the expected reduction, around 450 million gallons will continue to be provided.
The KW&SC has appealed to citizens to use water cautiously in view of the temporary shortfall that may occur during this period.
