Sri Lanka Edge Pakistan by 6 Runs to Reach Tri-Nation Series Final

In the last league match of the T20 Tri-Nation Series, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 6 runs. The final will be played on Saturday between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

In the match played in Rawalpindi, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first.

Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka was dismissed after scoring 8 runs. For the second wicket, Kamal Mishara and Kusal Mendis added a 66-run partnership. Mendis scored 40 runs before getting out, while Mishara made 76. Liyanage remained unbeaten on 24, taking Sri Lanka to a total of 184 for 5.

For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed was the most successful bowler, taking two wickets.

In reply, Pakistan had a poor start, scoring only 45 runs in the powerplay while losing four wickets. Sahibzada Farhan scored 9, Babar Azam 0, Fakhar Zaman 1, and Saim Ayub managed 27.

Captain Salman Ali Agha and Usman Khan then took the score to 99. Usman Khan was dismissed for 33. After that, Mohammad Nawaz played an aggressive innings, scoring 27 off just 16 balls to bring Pakistan back into the game. After his dismissal, Pakistan needed 10 runs in the final over.

Dushmantha Chameera conceded only 3 runs in the last over and took the wicket of Faheem Ashraf, securing a 6-run victory for Sri Lanka. Salman Ali Agha remained unbeaten on 63.

For Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chameera took four wickets.

The final of the Tri-Nation Series will be played on Saturday between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
