Managing Director Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Government of Sindh, Gahanwer Ali Laghari graced the Sindhi Cultural Day Festival organized by Times News at the Government Girls Campus Secondary School, Gulshan-e-Hadid as a chief guest. He was accompanied by Director Programs & Planning, Nisar Banbhan.
The event featured a series of powerful cultural performances by students, including tableaux on Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s Soormiyoon, traditional dying rituals, the importance of education, and other themes reflecting Sindh’s rich heritage.
The festival drew participation from district education officials, civil society members, stakeholders, journalists, teachers, and the local community, celebrating the cultural vibrancy of the province.
Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director said that festivals like these “connect us with our roots,” adding that every performance carried “a profound sense of history.” He praised the students for their talent and confidence, noting that their presentations beautifully showcased the cultural depth of Sindh.
“Sindh is rich in art, culture, and tradition and today we witnessed it in its finest form,” he remarked. He also congratulated the Correspondent of Times News and the organizing team for arranging a vibrant and meaningful cultural celebration.
The Managing Director urged teachers to actively prepare and motivate their girl students to appear in the upcoming admission tests being conducted by NJV Karachi, Girls Cadet College Nawabshah, and Cadet College Larkana. He emphasized that SEF will continue supporting deserving students through district-wise allocated scholarship seats to ensure talented girls from every region get a fair opportunity to excel.
To further encourage academic excellence, the MD also announced a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 for each position holder an incentive aimed at inspiring students to aim higher and pursue their dreams with confidence.
