The Punjab government has launched a weekend double-decker bus service between Lahore and Sheikhupura to promote tourism and highlight the district’s rich heritage. The service, run by the Tourism & Archaeology Department, operates every Saturday and Sunday at a fare of Rs. 1,200 per person.
On its inaugural journey, tourists visited Hiran Minar and the shrine of Waris Shah, enjoying cultural recitations, boating, and cycling activities.
Officials said the initiative aims to make Sheikhupura a regional tourism hub, boosting local businesses and preserving historical identity.
