Sukkur IBA University successfully conducted the 20th Meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies & Research (BASR) on November 25, 2025, at the Main Campus Boardroom. The meeting was held under the leadership of the Convener and Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, who chaired the session and provided valuable guidance on strengthening academic quality, research governance, and postgraduate progression across all departments.

The University also welcomed the newly appointed Director of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohsin Kazmi, who served as Member-Secretary of the Board and facilitated the proceedings of the meeting. Dr. Kazmi coordinated discussions on postgraduate academic regulations, supervisory responsibilities, student progress, and policy implementation to ensure timely degree completion and adherence to University and HEC standards.
The BASR deliberated on a wide range of agenda items, including:
>Enhancing PhD and MPhil progress monitoring mechanisms
>Strengthening quality assurance and supervisory practices
>Streamlining evaluation processes and comprehensive examinations
>Improving coordination across departments for student support and research facilitation
>Reviewing synopsis, theses, and academic integrity protocols
