Population Welfare Department’s “Pre-Marriage Counselling, Guidance for Successful Married Life” project launched
Lahore, February 27. The Director General of the Department of Population Welfare, Punjab, Saman Roy, presided over the meeting of the field officers of the ongoing project regarding the new youths in his office today. On this occasion, Director PME Amjad Farooq, Deputy Secretary Tree. Technical primary and secondary health care workers Rao Alamgir, PCO Shahid Nawaz, DPW, and CO district health athar tees participated.
Director General Saman Rai said that the Department of Population Welfare Punjab has started a major project of guidance related to leading a successful married life before marriage with the cooperation of the Department of Primary and Secondary Health. It has been started in the districts of Kasur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Rawalpindi and soon it will be extended to other districts. He said that the pre-marriage counseling process of the Department of Population Welfare, Government of Punjab is an ideal plan to fulfill the dream of a prosperous society. Economic and social awareness and enabling better decision-making related to population pressures, prevention of unintended pregnancy, hereditary diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, and family planning besides highlighting strong and happy married life. Maternal and child health are included in retention. Saman Roy said that in this regard, special team outlets consisting of trained people, family health clinics, family welfare centers, mobile service units, reproductive health centers, and rural health centers are leading in the provision of services. Motivational counseling is also provided to encourage and guide eligible couples. He said that the process of marriage counseling not only provides guidance regarding the correct decision of marriage, but it also gives mental training to new couples on the right lines for married life. Take full advantage of this wonderful project and educate your children on the complex aspects of the upcoming practical life through counseling. Psychologists have been hired in all the districts of Punjab for this big project. Director General said, The process of premarital counseling plays an important role in establishing a prosperous married life and family units on a strong foundation. Will be able to develop the skills of dealing with domestic problems, understanding problems, and harmony in the thinking of husband and wife.
