Gahanwer Ali Laghari, Managing Director of the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Government of Sindh, attended the 3rd Shah Latif Children’s Festival organized by the Sindh Language Authority as the Guest of Honour.
The festival brought together prominent literary and cultural figures, including former Senator and Minister for Culture Sassui Palijo, Ayaz Latif Palijo, Ishaq Samejo, Dr. Fayaz Latif, Ali Akash and other noted writers, who spoke about the relevance and impact of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s teachings for children.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Managing Director highlighted SEF’s expanding portfolio and its commitment to promoting the language and message of Shah Latif across Sindh. He shared that more than 1,300 Foundation-Assisted Schools under SEF are Sindhi-medium institutions, reflecting the Foundation’s strong emphasis on mother-tongue education. He added that SEF consistently encourages its implementing partners to prioritize and promote Sindhi language in classrooms.
The Managing Director further noted that SEF is already collaborating with the Sindh Language Authority on specialized training programs for teachers to strengthen Sindhi language instruction, ensuring quality learning and preservation of linguistic heritage across the province.
Moreover, SEF officials including Director Programs and Planning, Regional Head Hyderabad, District Heads Hyderabad Region and their respective team members actively attended the festival.
