Sindh Sets a Global Benchmark in Climate-Resilient Recovery!
At COP30 in Belรฉm, Brazil, the Government of Sindh, in collaboration with international partners, showcased the Sindh Peopleโ€™s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF) programโ€”the worldโ€™s largest climate-resilient housing reconstruction initiative.
This yearโ€™s highlight was the empowerment of women to lead climate action in Sindh. Panelists Noelle Oโ€™Brien, Director of Climate Change, Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Daouda Ben Oumar Ndiaye, Manager of Climate Change & Environment Division, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), recognized the programโ€™s women-led approach, real-time monitoring, and innovative use of technology, emphasizing its beneficiary-driven model that puts women at the forefront through financial inclusion, land ownership, and decision-making, setting a global example for sustainable, gender-responsive recovery.
