Sindh Sets a Global Benchmark in Climate-Resilient Recovery!
At COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the Government of Sindh, in collaboration with international partners, showcased the Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF) program—the world’s largest climate-resilient housing reconstruction initiative.
This year’s highlight was the empowerment of women to lead climate action in Sindh. Panelists Noelle O’Brien, Director of Climate Change, Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Daouda Ben Oumar Ndiaye, Manager of Climate Change & Environment Division, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), recognized the program’s women-led approach, real-time monitoring, and innovative use of technology, emphasizing its beneficiary-driven model that puts women at the forefront through financial inclusion, land ownership, and decision-making, setting a global example for sustainable, gender-responsive recovery.
