West Indies clinch the ODI series against UAE

SHARJAH: West Indies beat United Arab Emirates by 78 runs to spare at their second consecutive bilateral ODI series, taking a 2-0 lead in the three match series here in Sharjah.
Opener Brandon King and Charles scored 129 in opening pair. King once again played superbly and made 64, Charles 63, Odean 37, Carty 32, Hope 23 and Shamarh 20 helped team West Indies good total 302/10. West Indies won the toss and opted to bat.


UAE chase to target and scored 227 for 7 wickets in 50 overs. Last Match debutant Ali Naseer once again made an other half century, he scored 57 in 53 balls, Hameed scored 49, Arvind 36, Asif khan 25 and Sharma made 20 from UAE side. Kavem and Chase taking 2 wickets each.

The three one dayers will also prepare the teams for the ICC World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe this month.
The third ODI match between UAE and West Indies

is set to take place on Friday June 9 at same venue. West Indies opener Charles awarded man of the Match on his magnificent inning.
