The Chemical Engineering Department at NED University of Engineering and Technology has expressed great pride after its undergraduate team secured first position at the Design and Innovation Challenge for Chemical Engineers (DICCE) 2026, held at LUMS Lahore.<\/p>\n
The winning team stood out in a highly competitive national contest by presenting an innovative project on a Green Ammonia Production Facility, aligning with global efforts toward decarbonization and sustainable energy solutions.<\/p>\n
According to details, the project featured advanced process simulation using Aspen Plus software to model the green ammonia synthesis process with high accuracy. The team also conducted a detailed techno-economic analysis, demonstrating both environmental sustainability and commercial feasibility.<\/p>\n
Green ammonia is considered a key development in hydrogen storage and carbon-free fertilizer production, highlighting the potential role of young Pakistani engineers in the global energy transition.<\/p>\n
The achievement was made possible under the supervision and mentorship of Associate Professor Dr. Saad Nadeem, whose guidance played a vital role in shaping the project into an award-winning submission.<\/p>\n
