Sukkur, April 23, 2026: Sukkur IBA University had the honour of hosting Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, during his official visit on Thursday. The visit commenced with a solemn tribute at the grave of the late Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, where the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Pro Vice Chancellors, and senior officials paid homage to the visionary leader whose legacy continues to shape the institution.<\/p>\n

\nA formal session followed, where Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor, extended a warm welcome and presented a comprehensive overview of the University\u2019s journey, achievements, and future vision.

\n He highlighted that Sukkur IBA University, founded on the vision of the late Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, has evolved from modest beginnings into a multi-campus institution committed to merit, transparency, and inclusivity.

\n Emphasizing its strong outreach, he noted that the University offers significant fully funded scholarships to deserving students across Pakistan and has achieved notable milestones including national rankings, international accreditations, robust testing services, and impactful initiatives in community development and digital innovation.<\/p>\n

\nAddressing the audience, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar appreciated the University\u2019s contributions to quality education, innovation, and inclusivity. He acknowledged its role in attracting talented students from across the country and fostering their academic and professional growth. Stressing the importance of collective institutional efforts, he highlighted the need to align academic programs with national priorities, including emerging technologies, research, and industry linkages. He also encouraged enhanced international collaboration and reaffirmed HEC\u2019s commitment to supporting universities in achieving excellence and contributing to national development.

\nDuring his visit, the Chairman toured key facilities, including the CRAIB Lab and FAB Lab, where he was briefed on ongoing research and student-led innovations. He expressed keen interest in the work being carried out and encouraged further advancement in emerging fields.
\nA tree plantation ceremony was also held on campus in connection with Earth Day, symbolizing the University\u2019s commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener future.
\nThe visit reflects the strong collaboration between Sukkur IBA University and HEC Pakistan, reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing higher education, fostering innovation, and nurturing future leaders. The visit concluded with the presentation of a souvenir to the honorable Chairman, followed by a group photograph with university leadership and faculty, and culminated in a gala dinner held in his honour.<\/p>\n
