A Lahore court has ruled in favor of renowned Pakistani singer Ali Zafar in a long-running defamation case, imposing a fine of Rs5 million on Meesha Shafi.<\/p>\n
The verdict was announced by an Additional Sessions Judge after nearly eight years of legal proceedings on a Rs1 billion defamation suit filed by Ali Zafar against Meesha Shafi.<\/p>\n
During the course of the trial, a total of nine judges presided over the case. Testimonies of 20 witnesses were recorded across 283 hearings.<\/p>\n
Additional Sessions Judge Asif Hayat delivered the final judgment, rejecting the allegations made by Meesha Shafi against Ali Zafar and decreeing the defamation claim in favor of the singer.<\/p>\n
